New Zealand, Part Four:

Return to Christchurch

We spent our last couple of days back in Christchurch, seeing the sights we'd missed the first time around--such as Cathedral Square, to the right--and coming to grips with the fact that we'd soon be heading home.

Gwendolyn drowned her sorrows in ducks.

She's such a trooper.

Uh, Gwen? Gwen?

I didn't look forward to explaining how I lost my wife.

Thankfully, I managed to rescue Gwendolyn before her ab-duck-tors could get very far with her.

Back in the Botanical Garden, the roses were in bloom, displaying just about every color one could imagine (and a few I couldn't).

Greg and I also visited the Antarctic Centre, your one-stop-touristing location for all things southpolar. Here's Greg in the snow room, in which visitors are lashed with high winds at sub-freezing temperatures.

After my dip(s) in the Dart River, it felt like Miami Beach.

One of the displays was a whiteboard asking you what one thing you'd take to Antarctica with you.

See if you can find my addition to the list.

A man's gotta have his priorities.

This brings our New Zealand experience to a close.  We had a real blast, and thanks for letting me share some of it with you.

Thanks also to all the friendly Kiwis (and Aussies) we met along the way. We greatly appreciated your hospitality, and look forward to visiting again!
