GwenCon 3.5 Day Two: Saturday

Saturday's
frenzy of gaming began with Part I of James Wyatt's thrilling "Orient
Expedition" game using the D20 Modern Pulp Heroes rules.
Check out those daring elephant riders!
Meanwhile,
work began on the annual puzzle, with master assembler Julia Martin on the task.
We'll check back in with Julia as the show continues.
Scott
explains the finer points of the rules to Puerto Rico (which he claims as
the greatest board game ever) to Beth, Jeff, Jessica, Gwendolyn, and Faith.

Later that afternoon, Alan, Warren, Tim, and Eric explore the intricacies of
Alhambra.
By
4 p.m., teams are assembling for GwenCon's signature event, "The Game." A
puzzle-solving event brought back from Stanford by Andy & Greg, The Game tests
each participant's mental prowess in ways they couldn't possibly imagine. (L-R:
Beth, Mark, Jessica, Warren, Faith, Mike, Scott, Eric, Marc, and Tim.)

Director
of Game Control Greg Collins delivers the opening briefing to the teams . . .
and chaos ensues.
Nearby,
under the watchful eye of Big Daddy Dave, young Jake Noonan remains blissfully
unaware of the madness surrounding him. This is Jake's first Gwen Con, but we're
betting it won't be his last.
And
speaking of defenseless toddlers, back inside Glen, Andy, Viet, and Chris gather
for a rollicking session of Kobolds Ate My Baby! Mmm, mmm, baby!
