GwenCon 3.5 Day One: Friday (Continued)

While
Tim, Eric, Scott, and Chris seek to take over the nation with Cults Across
America, Jeff, Kate, Jennifer, and Faith engage in the more peaceful pursuit
of Coloretto.
Upstairs,
Beth, Rich, John, Gwendolyn, Tammie, and Jesse take now-familiar roles in Dr.
Rateliff's Scooby-Doo Cthulhu game. It just wouldn't be GwenCon without
Scooby, after all.
"Ruh-roh, a roggoth!"
Perhaps
surprisingly for a gathering that includes way too many people who've been
involved in writing, editing, and other aspects of the production of Dungeons
and Dragons products, there wasn't a lot of archetypal fantasy dungeon delving
to be found at GwenCon. However, proving that you can't have a gaming convention
without swords & sorcery, Dave Noonan runs some plain old-fashioned D&D for
Stan!, Chris, and Viet. Note the DM's glowing eyes--that's no camera trick,
folks, he's really just plain evil.
Back downstairs, the living room of Tindalos House has been transformed into
Springfield USA, home of everybody's favorite four-fingered family, the Simpsons. Over the next few hours, Groundskeeper Willy, the Sea Captain,
Duff Man, Snake, Dr.
Nick Riviera, and Professor Frink (along with his robot companion from the
future, Bender), explore the wild and woolly
streets in search of invaluable artifacts of Simpsonia (including Willy's
retirement grease, ice-cold mugs of Duff Beer, and the only remaining VHS copy
of Troy McClure's timeless classic "Christmas Ape Goes to Summer Camp."
The
marquee event of Friday night, however, was the massive session of Werewolf
(a.k.a. Mafia), the party game that pits innocent townsfolk against the
murderous (but just as innocent-looking) werewolves who seek to overrun the
village. Though you might come to the game as a long-time friend or perfect
stranger, in mere minutes you'll be just as suspicious (and suspected) as
everyone else.

On
the left, Andy gets pegged as a werewolf by the seer, Jesse, in the opening
round.
To the right, the werewolf Dennis reveals his true colors.
