Australia 2006
| Next door to the aquarium is the
Wildlife World, which
opened its doors less than a week before we arrived. (Good timing!)
Throughout the halls, zookeepers showed off some of the denizens. Here we
have Gwendolyn making friends with a peppermint stick insect. |

 |
Yet another Darling Harbor attraction is the
Chinese Garden of
Friendship, a wonderful oasis of tranquility in the bustling city. I
found the Dragon Wall particularly striking. |
| Here we are at the Hunter Valley Gardens, hidden deep in
Australian wine country. Speaking of the outdoors, we couldn't have asked
for better weather--sunny and 25-30 (Celsius) just about every day.
I just wish the region didn't have to be in a drought to provide warm
days for visitors... |

We spent one afternoon on a dolphin-watching cruise, but it
turns out it's bloody hard to snap a picture of a dolphin--they don't really
stay put for long. Instead, we have an aerial shot of Gwendolyn taking
advantage of the "boom net swim" option.
Yes, she's the only person on the boat who went swimming.
Yes, the tourists took as many pictures of her as they did of the
dolphins... |
